| Structure | The team is structured with an overall team leader but operates a very flexible sub structure, in that it can be split as local circumstances require or dictate into sub-teams or groups. The team also has the ability to operate its own satellite communications network. It is structured to operate advance reconnaissance in difficult disaster areas. Each sub-team is also totally self contained. Each team member has skills which relate to the anticipated disaster environment. All team members are fully trained in search and rescue medical training to paramedic standard, with knowledge of triage and casualty trauma and handling.
