Structure Serve On UK – International Search & Rescue Capabilities List USAR –Serve On utilises ‘Light Teams’ to deploy rapidly to sudden-onset disasters and can carry out wide-area and sector assessments, assisting the host nation in prioritising its search and rescue efforts. Such assessments allow for highly trained teams such as Serve On’s to conduct: o Initial, rapid collapsed structure rubble pile search o technical search and rescue using specialist equipment such as seismic acoustic equipment, CO2 probes, drone search and thermal imaging o propping and shoring to allow for ingress and extraction of casualties o breaching and breaking to gain access to free deeply entombed casualties o casualty to care to point of medical handover o Our training allows this work to be conducted efficiently but with compassion and dignity o High assurance searches using live scenting dogs through MOUs with partner organisations Search & Rescue Dogs – Live-scenting dog teams from our partners from Northern Ireland K9SARNI team enhance our capabilities as the dogs can swiftly cover a large area indicating the presence of casualties. • Drone Operations – Our UK licensed drone operators can rapidly assess areas, whether that be for urban search and rescue purposes, wide area search for missing persons land or water. Our drone capability allows us to work in weather conditions that many others can’t and include: o Wide camera angle filming that can be streamed back to the operator and/ or a remote operations room o Laser range finder o 3D Modelling o Night theme mode including spotlighting, infrared thermal imaging and SmartTracking o Auxiliary lighting and loudspeaker capability • Coordination and alignment – Coordination with NGOs, local authorities, and other relief agencies within national disaster management frameworks (e.g. the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management in Jamaica or Local Resilience Forums within UK) Beyond the Rubble • Emergency Water Purification – Our water filtration pumps have a flow rate of 10-12 litres per minute, making them suitable for use in large villages or small hospitals for short periods of time • Communication suite – a comprehensive, resilient comms suite to support our teams while they assist remote or cut off communities. • Emergency Shelter Setup & Support – We can provide experienced personnel to assist with installing temporary shelters or repairing partially damaged homes, providing displaced families with safe accommodation. • Logistics & Supply Distribution – Short-term coordinating the distribution of food, blankets, shelter kits, and other essential relief items (see UK support example). • Community Liaison & Protection Work – Engaging with community leaders to identify vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, and disabled individuals, ensuring their needs are addressed while helping to mitigate protection risks. Our team hold UK enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificates. • Recovery Planning & Resilience Building – Assisting communities in long-term resilience to withstand future storms, including offering guidance on risk reduction.
